November 30, 2023/ 1:23 PM IST: Amazon Prime Video’s “Panchayat Season 2” won the award for “Best Web Series at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on Tuesday. India’s most streaming platform serving content across the country with ten mainstream languages. The OTT platform earlier entered into five awards for excellent content.
The head director of Prime Video, Sushant Sreeram told the media that their goal is to bring relatable and entertaining content that will deeply evoke emotion and influence the audience of and across India.
He added, “We are truly honoured to have received this recognition “.
The PIB took X (Twitter) to congratulate the Panchayat team for winning the award at IFFI, Goa.
About the Web Series: Panchayat Season 2
Showing the daily life of the rural part of India with a touch of humour, the web series revolves around Phulera’s life and presents new challenges for Abhishek.
Produced by Arunabh Kumar and directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, the second season is all about the main character, Abhishek, from handling the Panchayat’s office and local village politics to preparing for CAT exams. The series confines the daily life hurdles faced by Abhishek along with building connections with Vikas, Prahalad, Manju Devi, and Pradhan.
The series starred the talented cast of Jitendra Kumar, Faisal Malik, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Sanvikaa, and Chandan Roy, to become the fictional characters of the web series.
However, after season 2, Prime Video released the trailer for Panchayat season 3 on November 28, 2023. The entire web series is to be released in March 2024.
