Oscars 2024 memoriam
The 96th Academy Awards’ In Memoriam portion honored a number of deceased members of the entertainment business, including producer and art director Nitin Desai, who was 57 when he reportedly committed suicide. Nitin Desai is well-known for his work with directors such as Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Honour to Nitin Desai
Nitin Desai has contributed to several classic movies, such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Bajirao Mastani. Notable directors like Rajkumar Hirani and Ashutosh Gowariker collaborated on films in his broad portfolio, which included Josh, Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha, Munna Bhai MBBS, Dostana, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Mission Kashmir, and Once Upon a Time in Mumbai. Panipat, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, was his most recent picture.
Honour to Lee Sun Kyun
The well-known actor Lee Sun-Kyun participated in the Oscar-winning movie “Parasite” and went to the famous event in 2020 with the cast of the movie. Four Academy Awards were given to the movie: best picture, original screenplay, international feature film, and director Bong Joon-ho. Following “Parasite,” the actor starred in the television series “Dr. Brain,” for which he was nominated for a 2022 International Emmy Award for Best Actor. Among other South Korean productions, he was in “Payback,” “Diary of a Prosecutor,” “My Mister,” and “Kingmaker.”
In addition to Nitin Desai and Lee Sun-kyun, performers Matthew Perry from Friends, Harry Belafonte, Paul Reubens from Pee-wee Herman, Melinda Dillon, Norman Jewison, Piper Laurie, Ryan O’Neal, Julian Sands, Carl Weathers, Treat Williams, and Burt Young were honored at this year’s Oscars. During the “In Memoriam” section, interpretive dancers danced with Andrea and his son Matteo Bocelli. Everyone was in tears after the performance.
Disney+ Hotstar in India streamed the Oscars 2024 ceremony.
