Britain (1,55,730), Germany (1,35,090), Italy (1,18,412), USA (74,575), France (49,199), Spain (40,462) and Switzerland (37,260) are the next countries. It says so. Statistics from the aviation sector also show that Maldives has become the most popular tourist destination for Indians over the past few years.
In the quarter from October to December 2018, 51 thousand people traveled between India and Maldives through direct air service. This increased to 60 thousand during the same period in the following year. In 2020, 32 thousand people traveled despite the corona virus. In 2021, it increased to 1.15 lakh. But in 2022, it decreased significantly.
