On Tuesday, the Telangana PCC announced Revanth Reddy as the youngest and new Chief Minister of Telangana state.
Revanth took it into the X (formerly Twitter) and thanked Mr Kharge and the Gandhis for believing him to be in the top position, as “Congress soldiers who stood by us through thick and thin”.
“I wholeheartedly express my gratitude to the honourable AICC president Shri Kharge ji, Mother of Telangana, ever-inspiring leader Rahul Gandhi ji, charismatic Priyanka Gandhi ji, AICC General Secretary Venugopal ji, Deputy CM of Karnataka DK Shiv Kumar ji and in charge General Secretary- Telangana Manik Rao ji and last but not the least our congress soldiers who stood by us ”, said Reddy in his tweet.
The Congress defeated the opposition party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi by taking over 65 seats out of 119. After this, Revanth Reddy was appointed president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) in 2021.
On December 5, the General Secretary of Congress KC Venugopal announced Revanth Reddy as the new Chief Minister of Telangana. He said the CLP of Telangana had forwarded the party president’s name as the new CM, and then the Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge took the final decision.
Oath-taking Ceremony of Revanth Reddy:
Today, the newly elected candidate Revanth Reddy will take the oath as the Chief Minister of Telangana, becoming the second and youngest CM of the state.
The ceremony will take place at the Hyderabad’s LB Stadium. Moreover, several prominent personalities from the Congress Party will address the oath ceremony.
Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Party leader Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, Deputy CM of Karnataka DK Shivkumar, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhwinder Singh Suku will be present in the ceremony.
PM Narendra Modi congratulates Revanth Reddy:
PM Modi wrote a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) congratulating Mr Revanth Reddy for winning and becoming the new Chief Minister of Telangana.
“Congratulations to Shri Revanth Reddy Garu on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Telangana. I assure all possible support to the further progress of the state and the welfare of its citizens “, posted by Modi on X.
Overall, Reddy made several progresses while in the position of president. Currently, it seems that the Congress will be back of Reddy for the top position in future. However, he might face trouble as many leaders from Congress were standing against him.
