A 16-year-old teenager stabbed a 17-year-old boy 60 times and kicked and dragged him around a narrow lane in northeast Delhi.
The victim was identified as a resident of Jafrabad, where he lived with his mother, who worked as a domestic helper.
The murder took place around 10:20 PM and the police received the information around 11:15 PM in the night. The investigators then revealed that the suspect approached the victim and asked him to give Rs. 350 to buy Biryani. After, the suspect tried to rob after getting refused, leading to a scuffle. The suspect then choked the victim and left him unconscious, said police.
The video of the murder, shows the suspect relentlessly stabbing in the victim’s side neck, ears and face. The boy then pauses, looks around, stamps Victim’s back and kicks his head.
Around half a minute into the video, he stabbed the victim 30 times, grabbed his hair and dragged him out of the by-lane.
The resident tried to intervene but got scared by the murderer. They took the boy to GTB hospital, where he was declared dead.
Footage captured on the CCTV camera helped the police to identify the murder suspect.
Joy Tirkey, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East Delhi), said the two boys were unfamiliar to each other.
“They ran into each other in Janta Mazdoor Colony when the victim refused to offer Rs.350, the suspect tried to rob him. He then choked the boy. When the victim collapsed, the boy stabbed him multiple times, left him to die and fled with the Rs.350 cash,” added Tirkey.
Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) member Ranjan Prasad said the panel will look after the case and counsel the suspect, assuming the child might not be brought up in a healthy environment at home.
