The Tamil Nadu government has announced that Rs 5.5 lakh crore investment has been attracted on the first day of the World Investors Conference.
Chief Minister M.K.Stalin has set a goal to make Tamil Nadu a trillion-dollar economy by 2030. For that purpose, he went to various foreign countries including Singapore and Japan to attract investments.
As a continuation of that, Chief Minister M.K.Stalin on Sunday (Jan.7) morning inaugurated the 2-day Global Investors’ Conference held at chennai trade Center in Nandambakkam, Chennai on behalf of Tamil Nadu Government.
Industry representatives from over 50 countries participated in this conference. The government had planned to attract investments of Rs. 5.5 lakh crore for Tamil Nadu.
In this situation, an investment of Rs.5.5 lakh crore has been received on the first day of the World Investors Conference 2024.
Tamil Nadu Industries Secretary Arun Roy said that more than 100 MoUs were signed.
Many companies including Hyundai, Ola, and Godrej are planning to set up and expand their factories in Tamil Nadu. So far various companies have announced their investments worth several crores of rupees.
MoUs were signed for projects with major companies such as Tata Electronics, Pegatron, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, JSW, and Vinfast.

Several companies announced attention-grabbing investments at the Global Investors Conference. Out of which, Vinfast’s investment of Rs.16,000 crore attracted a lot of attention. The company will set up a manufacturing center for electric vehicles in Thoothukudi.
