From 2018 to last year, Hugh Edmunds and before that Richard Madley ran the IPL auction. But this time Mallika Sagar is going to lead the IPL mini-auction. Mallika Sagar has become the first female auctioneer in the history of an IPL auction.
Who is this Mallika Sagar?:
This is the first time a woman has been chosen to conduct the IPL auction. In the 16-year history of IPL auctions, auctioneers such as Richard Medley, Charu Sharma, Huj Edmedas have been held as auctioneers. Especially when Edmedas suddenly fainted when he bid for Hazaranga in the 2022 IPL auction.
Immediately after this Charu Sharma conducted the auction. Edmedas then held last year’s auction. But this time it has been announced that Mallika Sagar from Mumbai is going to act as the auctioneer. He is already running the Pro Kabaddi League auction from 2021. He has also conducted the auction for the Women’s Premier League series.
She started her journey with the British auction house in 2001 and is set to become the woman auctioneer for the IPL men’s series. This has caused surprise among the fans. Expectations have also increased as to how Mallika Sagar is going to conduct the auction by combining the executives of all the teams. Surely this auction to be an exciting one and we will wait and watch the Auction.
