The measure effectively separates Live measure Shorts from Animated Features and Animated Shorts, reducing the latter to oversee only live-action and nonfiction shorts. A single governor will now solely represent Live Action and Nonfiction Shorts. All of this is extremely indicative of the fact that animation is still exploding in all of its forms.
Five presenters for the Award
The Academy never announces who will present which awards ahead of the big night, but it is safe to assume that Brendan Fraser, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis, the four acting winners from last year, will be among the five presenters for their respective categories. The Academy never announces who will present which award ahead of the big night, but if one looks at the most recent news about the presenters, one would note that Brendan Fraser, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis, the four acting winners from last year, will be among the five presenters for their respective categories.
Your humble correspondent is among the many who watched the 2009 Oscars ceremony, and one of their all-time favorites is the exciting way the four acting Oscars were presented: The five nominees for each award this year were introduced by five previous winners. Massive standing ovations were given by the Dolby audience (even veteran presenters of award shows, Brad Pitt and Meryl Streep, looked utterly thrilled in cutaway shots); previous winners’ introductory remarks moved current nominees (Anne Hathaway broke down in tears); and the new winners received group hugs that felt like they were being welcomed into an exclusive fraternity or sorority (see: Kate Winslet).
