Qatar’s foreign ministry said that the ceasefire in Gaza has been reached for two additional days. Qatari foreign ministry representative Majed Al Ansari said on X, (previously Twitter), “The Territory of Qatar declares that, as a component of the continuous intercession, an understanding has been reached to expand the compassionate ceasefire for two extra days in the Gaza Strip.”
Qatar, alongside Egypt, has been the vital mediator in the continuous conflict between Israel and Hamas. The declaration comes on the last day of a four-day ceasefire between the two different sides.
More than 15,000 Palestinians have been killed since the conflict started, approximately 66 percent of them ladies and minors while about 1,200 individuals have been killed in Israel, for the most part during the underlying attack by Hamas.
Hamas said that it had agreed with Qatar and Egypt to a two-day expansion of the détente with Israel under similar circumstances as the past four-day truce.
“An understanding has been reached with the brothers in Egypt and Qatar to expand the impermanent compassionate ceasefire by two additional days, with similar circumstances as in the past truce,” a Hamas official told news agency Reuters.

Israel and Hamas are getting ready for a fourth trade of prisoners for Palestinians detained by Israel. On Sunday, Hamas liberated 17 additional prisoners — 14 Israelis and three Thais — in a third trade. Thus, Israel delivered 39 Palestinian prisoners. Of the approximately 240 prisoners caught by Hamas, 62 have been released, one was liberated by Israeli powers and two were tracked down dead inside Gaza. Because of equal negotiation, a sum of 17 Thais, one Filipino and one double Russian-Israeli public have likewise been released by Hamas.
