Coca-Cola India has decided to sell ready-to-drink tea under the brand Honest Tea. For this, Coca-Cola has entered into a major tie-up with Lakshmi Group’s iconic Darjeeling tea estate, Makaibari.
Under this alliance, Coca-Cola will purchase tea directly from Makaibari Tea Estate and manufacture iced green tea. The Honest Tea brand is owned by Honest, a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company. Coca Cola is set to launch Iced Green Tea in two flavors in India. Lemon-basil and mango are introduced in the taste.
Coca-Cola officially launched the new bottled Ice Green Tea on November 22, the second day of the Bengal Global Business Summit. During the launch, it was announced that the organic green tea will be sourced from Kolkata-based Lakshmi Tea Co Pvt Ltd’s Maghaibari Tea Estate.
It is noteworthy that the MoU was signed between the two companies at the seventh meeting of the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGPS). Also, Coca Coca Cola company has introduced iced green tea in lemon-basil and mango flavors first in India and then exported to other countries.
