“While the people of Ukraine used to celebrate Christmas on 7th January, now they have celebrated Christmas on 25th December for the first time.
According to the Julian calendar and the traditional system of the Russian government, Christmas is celebrated in January in Russia. Ukraine also celebrated Christmas on 7th January every year according to the traditional norms of Russia.
In this case, the country’s President Volodymyr Zelensky announced new terms for Ukraine in response to the war between Ukraine and Russia last July.
Subsequently, Ukrainians celebrated Christmas on December 25 according to the Western or Gregorian calendar, excluding the traditional Russian system.
President Zelensky announced the announcement Dec. 24. In it he mentioned to the people that “All Ukrainians should unite and celebrate Christmas.” On one day, we should unite as one big family, as one country. “
