The action thriller Monkey Man now has it’s trailer available. Dev Patel makes his feature directing debut in the movie with the famous action producer Jordan Peele. The more than three-minute teaser centers on a guy named Dev’s quest for vengeance against the dishonest officials who killed his mother, Adithi Kalkunte, and who still victimizes the weak and impoverished on a systematic basis.
The movie’s synopsis states, “Monkey Man stars Patel as Kid, an anonymous young man who survives out a meager living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash. The story is inspired by the legend of Hanuman, an icon embodying strength and courage.” Kid finds a means to sneak into the city’s evil elite’s enclave after years of holding his anger inside. His mysterious scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of vengeance to get revenge on the individuals who stole everything from him as his childhood trauma boils over.
In Hollywood, Sobhita Dhulipala debuts
On Friday evening, Sobhita Dhulipala made an announcement about her first Hollywood film on Instagram. “An absolute joy to share the trailer of my debut Hollywood film #MonkeyMan,” she said as the post’s caption. releasing on April 5th in theaters worldwide.” Anurag Kashyap reacted to the post by saying, “Looking super.”
Stars of Monkey Man
Patel not only wrote and directed the story, but he also starred in Monkey Man, co starring with Makarand Deshpande, Adithi Kalkunte, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma, Sikandar Kher, Sobhita Dhulipala, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Sharlto Copley.
The film was produced by Dev Patel, Jomon Thomas, Jordan Peele, Win Rosenfeld, Ian Cooper, Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Christine Haebler, and Anjay Nagpal. Patel, Paul Angunawela, and John Collee wrote the screenplay. Jonathan Fuhrman, Steven Thibault, Andria Spring, Aaron L. Gilbert, Natalya Pavchinskya, and Alison-Jane Roney are the executive producers.
The film is set to be release in theaters on April 5th.
