On Wednesday, the Dunki actor Shah Rukh Khan aka King Khan opened up about always wanting to play the role of James Bond but also revealed he’s unfit for to play the role, in a recent event in Dubai. Further, the actor also spoke about rejecting Slumdog Millionaire.
SRK on playing the role of James Bond
At the World Government Summit 2024 in Dubai, Shah Rukh Khan was one of the speakers, who spoke about a lot of things including his acting career. During the interview, he openly expressed his fascination with the James Bond character, for which he humorously introduced himself as ‘James Bond’ at the event.
Moreover, he also mentioned his height as an obstacle to playing the role. He playfully said, “I think I am too short… But I am brown enough to play Bond Baddie.” Apart from this, the actor also spoke about rejecting Slumdog Millionaire.
Rejecting the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’
Shah Rukh Khan had rejected the role in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, which stars Freida Pinto and Dev Patel, the actor spoke during an event in Dubai. However, Khan did not disclose the character he was offered, but speculation surrounds that he might be given the protagonist role in the movie.
Besides, he stated that he felt the movie presented a ‘stereotypical’ and ‘unrealistic’ portrayal of India, particularly focusing on the slums and poverty that he found offensive and did not want to be associated with such depictions. Meanwhile, he emphasized that he wasn’t against working in Hollywood but would only do for the projects that resonated with him.
What’s more for Shah Rukh Khan?
SRK is to star in ‘Operation Khukri’, which will be released soon along with ‘King’, which is an action-thriller movie and is in the early stages, according to the media reports. Apart from this, speculation surrounds the sequel of Jawan 2 and Karan Johar’s project on an emotional drama, which is yet to be disclosed.
