There were 335 new cases of coronavirus infection in India yesterday (Sunday). This has increased the number of people under treatment to 1,701. The Health Department reported that 5 people died in a single day.
In this regard, the Central Health Department has said in a statement that: JN.1 new subtype coronavirus was recently detected, and 4 died in Kerala, and one died in Madhya Pradesh was reported. The total number of Corona cases in India is 4.50 crore (4,50,04,816). So far 4.46 crore people (4,44,69,799) have recovered from the disease. The national recovery percentage is 98.81. So far 5,33,316 have died due to corona infection. The fatality rate is said to be 1.19%.
JN.1 case in Kerala:
A 78-year-old woman in Kerala was diagnosed with a new subtype of JN.1 after an RT-PCR test carried out on November 18. He reportedly had flu-like symptoms and is now said to have recovered from Covid.
Earlier, a Tamil who traveled to Singapore from Trichy on October 25 was also found to be infected with the JN.1 virus. However, neither Trichy nor anywhere else in Tamil Nadu was affected. Officials said that no cases of the JN.1 virus have been detected anywhere else in India.
In this situation, Kerala Health Minister Veena George told reporters on Sunday, “A traveler from Tamil Nadu who went to Singapore last month was diagnosed with this new subtype of the virus. This vulnerability has now been detected in Kerala. Don’t worry too much about it, it’s just a subtype of virus. People don’t need to panic. The situation is being closely monitored.” He said.
Alert for the elderly:
Kerala reported 346 cases of corona in a single day on Saturday. Across the state, 1,324 people are suffering from corona and are being treated in the hospital. Officials said that the damage has increased due to the large number of coronavirus tests.
