The data is based on a seven-day moving average of all adults in a given country, with a margin error up to +/-4 percentage points. In other countries, the sample size ranges from 500-5000. However, in the U.S., the average sample size is 45,000.
All the interviews were done online among a nationally representative sample of adults. Then, the surveys are weighted in each country by age, religion, and gender and for some countries it is based on education according to govt sources.
Then the respondents complete the survey in languages appropriate for their countries. Lastly, a professional translation company conducts translation and localization in each country for each survey.
Modi’s rise in International Standing:
PM Modi got 68% of approval in January 2023. And now there is a significant increase of 76% which signifies that he’s strong both domestically and internationally.
There are several reasons related to Modi’s rise internationally. From handling the COVID-19 pandemic, national security, and the economy to taking tough action on China and Pakistan, has attracted many Indians. Moreover, he implemented (GST) to improve the economy and strengthen diplomatic decisions making India strong.
India Remains Confident in Modi:
It’s almost nine years of BJP govt ruling the country. And through their rule, India has seen some serious transformation in the country that indicates continued confidence in Modi’s government.
Economic progress is the topmost evidence for confidence in the BJP. The country witnessed a slight growth in the economy under Modi’s leadership which led India to become the fifth-largest economy with nominal GDP in 2023.
Another thing is Modi’s strong leadership, and his ability to take bold steps to address the challenges that resonate to many Indians. Also, conducting several social programs like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, etc has benefited millions but mostly the rural part of India.
The Future of Indian Politics under Modi’s Govt:
If we look at the current scenario, the BJP is dominant and it is a huge advantage for the country in putting new agendas and policies. Along with this, making India a Hindu majority might create disturbance among religious communities.
The economic challenges like inflation, unemployment and opposition disunity, i.e., lack of strong leaders to challenge Modi.
Besides, the future of Indian politics is not certain as the current govt might face some challenges in future. However, the success of the government handling the complex situation and if this continues, then it might be a game changer for Indian politics.
