The 13th edition of the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup saw a world-record attendance of 1.25 million fans.
Australia stunned to win the 13th edition of the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup. This cricket festival started on 5th October last with 10 teams participating. At the end of the league rounds, 4 teams namely India, New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa qualified for the semi-finals. India beat New Zealand by 70 runs and Australia beat South Africa by 3 wickets to qualify for the final.
The Ahmedabad tournament is the best example of how Australia won the championship 6 times out of 8 finals played. Always in the knockout rounds and finals, the team’s mental struggle, game tactics and magic to tie up the opposition are amazing.
The Indian team, who batted first, and the Australian team, who chased the target, faced almost the same situation in batting. But the Australian team did not lose wickets and did not stagnate in collecting runs.
Including this match, the entire World Cup series was watched by 1.25 million fans. Nearly 12,50,307 fans came to the stadium to watch this 45-day series. This has become a world record. The previous record was 1,016 million people who watched the World Cup series in Australia and New Zealand in 2015. Now it has been broken by the World Cup series in India. It has become one of the biggest ICC events in the history of the game.
